Ron Trent

Associated since the late 1980s with the Chicago house scene, Ron Trent has developed music at the crossroads of deep house, jazz, soul, disco and African, Latin or Brazilian rhythms, with a marked taste for extended formats and slow progressions. He emerged in the early 1990s with the track 'Altered States', which became a landmark of American house, and then built a career as a producer, DJ and remixer across clubs, labels and collaborations. With Chez Damier, Ron Trent launched Prescription, a label linked to a more organic and atmospheric approach to house, before continuing his activities through other outfits such as Music And Power. Under his own name and under aliases like WARM, he refined a sound based on supple basslines, detailed percussion, dub textures and harmonic work nourished by jazz-funk. His discography notably includes the album 'Primitive Arts' released in 1998 and 'What Do The Stars Say To You' in 2022 under the name WARM, a project that extends his interest in the intersections between dance music, ambient, soul and cosmic groove.
