Nosferatu
Born in The Hague, Erwin van Kan developed Nosferatu in the wake of the mid-1990s Dutch hardcore scene, initially around Ruffneck Records with Patrick van Kerckhoven and Fred Henderson, before making it his main alias. His early tracks ranged between darkcore, industrial hardcore and artcore, featuring a dense, dark and melodic sound; Nosferatu gradually moved toward a more direct mainstream hardcore without abandoning compositions marked by tense atmospheres and massive rhythms. Active as a producer and DJ since 1994, Nosferatu regularly appears on the Thunderdome, Nightmare, Dominator, Masters of Hardcore and Project Hardcore circuits, where he has also produced several official anthems. His album discography includes Enemy of the State (2001), Enemy of the State II - A Mind Less Ordinary (2007) and Strength (2013). Over the years Nosferatu has collaborated with Endymion, Evil Activities, MC Rage, Korsakoff and Neophyte, among others, while maintaining an identity centered on Dutch hardcore. Erwin van Kan has also explored hardstyle through the High Voltage project, another facet of his career.
