AniMe

Born in Plaisance, Italy, Barbara Palermo first developed her DJ activity in Milan’s clubs in the early 2000s under the name Radioactive, before adopting the AniMe moniker for her career as a producer and DJ. Initially associated with darkcore and industrial hardcore, AniMe evolved her writing toward a fast, dense and frontal mainstream hardcore built on heavy rhythms, dark pads, processed vocals and a strong sense of impact on the dancefloor. After a stint on D-Boy Black Label, she joined Traxtorm Records in 2008 and signed with Dogfight Records from 2016, later appearing on Masters of Hardcore releases. Her trajectory is firmly rooted in the European gabber and hardcore scene, with appearances at events such as Thunderdome, Masters of Hardcore, Defqon.1, Dominator and Syndicate. AniMe has also collaborated with artists including DJ Mad Dog, Tha Playah, D-Fence, Noize Suppressor and Broken Minds; her albums include Exterminate (2016), Insane (2018), Aftermath (2019) and The 4th Dimension (2023), continuing a path begun with tracks like Detonate (2010) and A-Bomb (2012).
