Panic

Born in Rotterdam in 1975, Dennis Copier, also known as Panic and later DJ Panic, belongs to the generation that helped structure the Dutch hardcore scene from the early 1990s. Active since 1991, he emerged in the wake of clubs and the first gabber nights in the south of the Netherlands, with a sound centered on the most direct hardcore techno, made of fast rhythms, massive kicks, and a frontal aesthetic inherited from Rotterdam. Panic first drew attention within the Forze DJ Team alongside Paul Elstak and DJ Lars, before developing a producer and DJ career closely tied to the labels Forze Records, Offensive Records and then Neophyte Records. His studio work led him to regularly collaborate with Paul Elstak, Evil Activities and especially Neophyte, with whom he formed Hard Creation. Among the notable releases are Weak Motherfucker in 1997 with DJ Lars, Hate! in 1999 and Go! in 2000 with Paul Elstak, We Shall Not Be Moved in 2001, Never Fall Asleep in 2005 with Evil Activities and Invincible in 2009. Panic also participated in several collective projects and landmark compilations of Dutch hardcore culture, while maintaining a regular presence on European, American and Japanese stages.
