Nile Rodgers
Nile Rodgers is an American guitarist, composer, and producer whose imprint spans five decades of modern music. As the co-founder of Chic, he became one of the architects of disco-funk thanks to landmark albums such as C’est Chic and Risqué, where his syncopated guitar work and gift for arrangement redefined the groove. Beyond the band, Rodgers built a pivotal discography by collaborating on now-classic albums: Diana (1980) for Diana Ross with Bernard Edwards, Let’s Dance (1983) for David Bowie, Like a Virgin (1984) for Madonna, and Original Sin (1983) for INXS. His work also left its mark on Duran Duran, Grace Jones, Mick Jagger, and, much more recently, Daft Punk on Random Access Memories. A key figure in pop, funk, and modern production, Nile Rodgers remains one of the most influential musicians, celebrated for his singular style and decisive role in the evolution of contemporary music.
