Mathieu Boogaerts
Mathieu Boogaerts is a French musician born in the suburbs of Paris in 1970. He began making music very early; at nine he was given his first instrument, an organ. Mathieu Boogaerts has music at his fingertips, and in 1983, a year after buying his very first drum kit, he formed his first band, Made in Cament, with Cirille Burek, Maxime Garoute and Boris Demunsten. He is eclectic and always keen to learn new instruments, so in 1985, a year before his first concert, he bought a bass. From his meeting with Matthieu Chedid came his second band, Tam Tam, in 1987. As an author and composer, Mathieu Boogaerts released his first album in 1995 titled "Ondulé", whose video was made with Émilie Chedid, the sister of the singer -M-. Since that album, Mathieu Boogaerts has played venues such as La Java and even as far away as Japan. While he continued to compose songs, in 2010 he also tried his hand at writing with the book "Je ne sais pas", a title that is merely an answer to the perennial question he is asked: "But where does your inspiration come from, Mathieu?" In 2012 he released a self-titled album featuring a song called "Je sais" — perhaps he had found the answer.
