Emily Loizeau

The French composer and singer Emily Loizeau is known for her soft, melodious voice. Born in 1975, she grew up in a Franco‑British family and began making music at the age of five, learning the piano. She went on to study music and became familiar with other instruments such as the violin. In 2006 Emily Loizeau released her debut album L’autre bout du monde, on which she sings in both English and French. The album was praised by critics and the public, and Emily Loizeau gradually gained recognition from her peers, leading to collaborations with French chanson artists like Renan Luce. Her poetic songwriting resonated with audiences, and after three years of concerts during which she worked on new material, she released her second album Pays sauvage, featuring contributions from Thomas Fersen and the group Moriarty, among others. Her talent was confirmed when she won the Prix Constantin in 2009. Emily Loizeau then devoted herself to motherhood before returning in 2012 with the bilingual, poetic album Mothers & Tygers.
