Satori

Based in the Netherlands, Satori develops a hybrid approach to electronic music that sits between slow house, downtempo influences and borrowings from Eastern European, African and Middle Eastern traditions. The producer first drew attention in the early 2010s with releases where club rhythms and acoustic textures held equal weight, before solidifying this language on the album In Between Worlds (2015) and on Maktub (2017), released on Crosstown Rebels. There he established an aesthetic oriented toward voices, repetitive motifs and meditative atmospheres, which he extended in 2022 with Dreamin’ Colours, again for Crosstown Rebels, accentuating the melodic dimension and the presence of guest vocalists. On stage, Satori favors live or semi‑improvised performances, sometimes accompanied by musicians billed as Satori & The Band From Space, bringing his concerts closer to a band format than a simple DJ set. Active on international club and festival stages, Satori continues a discography focused on fusing electronic songwriting, organic instrumentation and a moderate dance tempo.
