Georgio

Born in 1993 in Paris’s 18th arrondissement, Georgio entered the French rap scene in the early 2010s by releasing freestyles and early tracks online, later affiliating with the collective 75e Session. After several independent projects and a steady presence on Paris stages, he released his first full-length album, Bleu noir, in 2015, marked by introspective writing and a keen interest in everyday narratives. He followed with Héra in 2016 and XX5 in 2018, where he honed a style that blends boom-bap influences, melodic touches and sung choruses, with lyrics focused on family, the city, friendships and personal vulnerabilities. With Sacré (2021) and Années sauvages (2022) Georgio continued this approach, expanding arrangements toward a more pop and atmospheric aesthetic while retaining a strongly narrative rap core. On stage he developed a near-band format with musicians and a backing vocalist, performing both in medium-sized venues and at mainstream festivals. Occasional collaborations with other French rap and pop artists reflect his desire to cross lyrical worlds and vocal registers, making Georgio a figure of personal, direct rap rooted in northern Paris and open to sounds beyond the confines of hip-hop.
