Zed Yun Pavarotti

Born in Saint-Étienne in 1997, Zed Yun Pavarotti, whose real name is Charlan Zouaoui-Peyrot, has been carving out a singular path since the mid-2010s in a space where cloud rap, trap, dark pop and rock guitars intersect. After his first project Sextus in 2016 and Fabric5 in 2017 with the POSA collective, he refined a very melodic approach marked by a languid voice, introspective lyrics and deliberately misty atmospheres. His profile rose with the mixtapes Grand Zéro (2018) and French Cash (2019), a period during which he also appeared on rap stages in France, Belgium and Switzerland and opened for artists such as Columbine, Lorenzo and Orelsan. With Beauseigne in 2020 he broadened his range by giving more room to sung choruses and a rock sensibility already present in his influences. Encore, released in 2023, continued this evolution, at times moving away from frontal rap in favor of a more pop- and guitar-oriented writing; an Encore (Maximale Edition) followed in 2024. He also collaborates with Osha, initially as a close working partner, in a trajectory that remains linked to a melancholic, direct and understated aesthetic.
