Franz Ferdinand
Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, Alex Kapranos, Robert Hardy, Nick McCarthy, and Paul Thomson formed the band Franz Ferdinand in 2002. Still art-school students, they started out playing small local venues. The UK independent label Domino spotted the promising group, and in 2004 Franz Ferdinand broke through with the hit single "Take Me Out," followed by the self-titled album "Franz Ferdinand." A period of international touring followed, during which the band proved its talent before thousands of fans. In 2005, Franz Ferdinand released their second studio album, "You Could Have It So Much Better," another triumph for the rock quartet. The group then entered a four-year lull before returning with "Tonight: Franz Ferdinand," a different, more electronic record, accompanied by the bonus disc "Blood: Franz Ferdinand." The Scottish quartet embarked on a run of promising shows and appeared at numerous European festivals. In 2013, rumors of a new album began to circulate after a concert where the band played two new tracks. Stay tuned!
