Brian Fallon
Born in Red Bank and shaped musically in New Jersey, Brian Fallon has developed since the late 1990s a songwriting style that sits between American rock, punk rock, heartland rock and folk rock. His path began in several local bands before he became the singer, rhythm guitarist and principal songwriter of The Gaslight Anthem, formed in New Brunswick in 2006. With that band he contributed to albums such as Sink or Swim (2007), The ’59 Sound (2008), American Slang (2010), Handwritten (2012), Get Hurt (2014) and History Books (2023), blending punk tension, classic rock melodies and narrative songs influenced by New Jersey’s imagery. In 2009 Fallon also shared the stage with Bruce Springsteen at the Hard Rock Calling festival. At the same time he formed the duo The Horrible Crowes with Ian Perkins for a softer, more soulful project on the album Elsie (2011), before embarking on a solo career with Painkillers (2016), Sleepwalkers (2018), Local Honey (2020) and Night Divine (2021). He has also pursued shorter-lived projects like Molly and the Zombies, which extend his Americana and folk side.
