Alter Bridge
Formed in Orlando, Florida, in the mid‑2000s, Alter Bridge emerged from the collaboration between Myles Kennedy, the former vocalist of The Mayfield Four, and three ex‑members of Creed: guitarist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips. The band crafts a brand of rock at the intersection of hard rock, alternative metal and post‑grunge, characterized by heavy riffs, prominently melodic vocals and extended guitar passages; their songs are often constructed in a progressive manner. Alter Bridge quickly established itself on the American rock scene and went on to find a substantial audience in the UK and Europe through regular touring and frequent festival appearances. The band’s studio discography includes One Day Remains (2004), Blackbird (2007), AB III (2010), Fortress (2013), The Last Hero (2016), Walk the Sky (2019) and Pawns & Kings (2022), which show a move toward darker atmospheres and more complex compositions while remaining rooted in an accessible rock format. Alongside the band’s activity, Alter Bridge coexists with its members’ side projects — notably Myles Kennedy’s work with Slash and Mark Tremonti’s solo career — without disrupting the steady rhythm of releases and tours.
