Flora Fishbach

Between synthetic chanson and dark pop, Fishbach has developed a distinctive universe on the francophone scene since the mid-2010s. Born in 1991 in Dieppe and raised in Charleville-Mézières, Flora Fishbach first trained in local rock bands before beginning to compose on her own. She was noticed with a self-titled EP in 2015 and made her name on festival stages and in independent venues, where her deep voice and French songwriting mark an aesthetic close to new wave and cold wave, nourished by the singer-songwriter tradition. In 2017 Fishbach released the album “À ta merci”, which established this blend of electronic pop, taut guitars and melancholic choruses, followed by “Avec les yeux” in 2022, where the textures remain synthetic but the production is more expansive while retaining a strong melodic anchor. Flora Fishbach’s songs often explore the tension between dark romanticism, intimate portraits and social observation, with a taste for nocturnal moods and slow to mid-tempo rhythms. Having lived for a time in Brussels, Fishbach continues to tour regularly in France and internationally and occasionally makes forays into visual work, notably as an actress in the series “Vernon Subutex”, thereby extending the world she builds on record.
