Eros Ramazzotti
Born in Rome in 1963, Eros Ramazzotti came to prominence in the early 1980s on the Italian music scene, initially as a singer-songwriter crafting pop infused with melodic rock. His win at the Sanremo Festival in 1984 in the Newcomers section with Terra promessa, followed by the triumph of Adesso tu in 1986, firmly established him on the Italian pop song scene. His early albums, from Cuori agitati (1985) to In certi momenti (1987), laid the foundations of a style blending romantic ballads, straightforward choruses and pop-rock arrangements, carried by an immediately recognizable voice. At the turn of the 1990s, records such as In ogni senso (1990), Tutte storie (1993) and Dove c’è musica (1996) were released in both Italian and Spanish versions, bringing Ramazzotti a wide audience across Europe and Latin America. Regular collaborations with other international artists and a sustained touring schedule reinforced this cross-border dimension. Subsequent albums, from Stilelibero (2000) to Vita ce n’è (2018) and Battito infinito (2022), continued this trajectory by updating Ramazzotti’s pop formula toward a contemporary adult register, where intimate songs, Latin influences and more electronic productions coexist, while preserving the melodic writing that has defined him since the beginning.
