Dusty Kid

Italian producer from Cagliari, Sardinia, Dusty Kid, whose real name is Paolo Lodde, emerged on the European techno scene in the 2000s with an aesthetic that blends minimal, melodic techno and electro touches. He was first noticed through a series of maxi singles on labels such as Boxer Recordings and Systematic. Dusty Kid developed a sound centred on long progressions, often acid‑tinged basslines and precise rhythmic work, designed for both clubs and close listening. His debut album, “A Raver’s Diary” (2009), synthesises this approach by alternating direct tracks and more atmospheric passages, situating him in a space where rave energy and synthetic melancholy coexist. Alongside his solo output, Paolo Lodde is one half of the duo Duoteque, linking him to a more compact, experimental minimal techno sphere. On stage Dusty Kid favours sets constructed as continuous narratives, played in clubs and festivals across Europe and beyond, and over the years he has amassed a dense catalogue of singles, remixes and albums exploring various shades of techno.
