Prewn

Prewn is an indie rock project based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, led by singer-songwriter and guitarist Lily Konigsberg (also active in the band Palberta) alongside musicians from the local scene. Rooted in a lo-fi, alternative aesthetic, Prewn works with direct song structures where jittery guitars, angular rhythm sections and melodic vocal lines intersect, often carrying a tension between intimacy and a more abrasive energy. The band's debut album, “System” (2023), collects tracks that range from fragile ballads to more dissonant passages, with a clear emphasis on dynamics and tempo shifts. Live, Prewn operates within a network of independent venues and small North American festivals, connected to a generation of indie rock and DIY artists from the Great Lakes region. Their world is built around introspective lyrics, repetitive motifs and slightly off-kilter melodies, extending Lily Konigsberg’s experiments while asserting a distinct group identity.
