Hudson Freeman
Raised between the suburbs of Dallas and the Kingdom of Eswatini in a family of evangelical missionaries, Hudson Freeman began writing songs early as a way to distance himself from that environment. He later settled in Springfield, Missouri, during his university years and released his self-produced debut EP, "A Man, One Day", in 2016, anchoring him in an independent folk scene marked by a DIY ethos. Influenced by artists such as Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver and Pedro the Lion, he honed a style he describes as "lofi folk", midway between intimate folk, hushed indie rock and home recordings with an intentionally raw grain. In 2021, the album "I AM All the Ages I’ve Ever Been" opened a new phase of writing in which Freeman explored faith, doubt, fragile friendships and the search for bearings. After the pandemic he moved to Brooklyn and continued that trajectory with "is a folk artist", released in spring 2025, which extends his reflections on belief, belonging and anxiety in the digital age. Among his recent releases is the track "if you know Me", published on November 14, accompanied by a cover of "Wild Horses".
