A rough, but precise voice, a sense of storytelling, guitars that press forward: from the DNA of The Gaslight Anthem to solo records like Painkillers, Sleepwalkers, or Local Honey, he preserves this mix of classic melodies and road stories, with a pronounced taste for choruses that linger.
Beside him, Dave Hause extends the same vein, with an energy inherited from Philadelphia punk and a more folk-rock, direct and nervy songwriting. Having spent time with The Loved Ones before forging his solo path (from Resolutions to Drive It Like It’s Stolen), he alternates between intimate and upfront, always with that sense of a guitar-driven song that invites a chorus. Two songwriters who respond to one another, between DIY tension and a rock heart.
