Brandon Flowers
Born in Henderson, a suburb of Las Vegas, Brandon Flowers grew up between Nevada and Utah before returning to Las Vegas, which serves as a central setting in much of his songwriting. In 2001 he co-founded The Killers with Dave Keuning and established himself as the band's lead singer, principal songwriter and keyboardist, with a sound that sits between alternative rock, new-wave revival, synth-pop and American rock. His clear vocals and songwriting combine pop choruses, post-punk tension and overt 1980s references, while he increasingly draws on a heartland rock thread. Alongside The Killers, he has pursued a more personal solo career in which keyboards remain central but the songs are often more direct and melodic. His two solo albums to date, Flamingo (2010) and The Desired Effect (2015), prolong this balance between pop rock, synth-pop and narratives rooted in the American West. He has also collaborated occasionally with artists such as New Order, Avicii, Robbie Williams and Chrissie Hynde, alternating band tours with solo club dates and major festivals. A third solo album, Thrasher, is announced for 2026.
