Friendship

Friendship is an American indie rock band from Philadelphia, made up of Dan Wriggins, Michael Cormier-O’Leary, Peter Gill and Jon Samuels. Formed in 2015, Friendship first released their debut You’re Going to Have to Trust Me (2015), followed by Shock Out of Season (2017) and Dreamin’ (2019). In 2022 the band released Love the Stranger, their first album on Merge Records, followed by Caveman Wakes Up in 2025 — both praised for their sonic palettes blending guitars, keyboards and folk-rock textures. Friendship has established itself as a group that combines carefully crafted melodies, organic arrangements and a lush aesthetic, claiming a distinct place in the American indie scene and renewing the genre with subtlety and confidence.
