A British rapper from Liverpool, EsDeeKid is carving out a place in the UK rap landscape with a pronounced Scouse accent and a dark, anonymous aesthetic. First noticed for a verse on DualSpines’ 2023 track “Altered,” EsDeeKid began releasing his own material in 2024—starting with a “Black Beatles” remix on SoundCloud—followed by a run of singles such as “Bally” with Rico Ace, “Slurricane” with Fakemink, and “Palaces.” “Bally” caught Pitchfork’s ear, earning a spotlight in its “The Ones” column and helping EsDeeKid break beyond Liverpool’s underground.
