Don Toliver

Born in Houston, Texas, in 1994, Caleb Zackery Toliver, known as Don Toliver, develops a vocal-driven rap that blends melodic trap, contemporary R&B and psychedelic textures rooted in the Texas scene. He emerged in the late 2010s with the mixtape Donny Womack (2018) and gained wider recognition through his appearance on Travis Scott's Astroworld. Joining the Cactus Jack label, he honed a style built on autotuned vocal lines, slow tempos and highly spacious productions. His debut album, Heaven or Hell, was released in 2020 and cemented this aesthetic between melodic rap and dark balladry; Life of a Don (2021) leaned toward lush textures and an R&B-adjacent format. In 2023, Love Sick continued to explore this territory, emphasizing contrasts between singing and rapping.
