Buckshot

From Ireland, Buckshot is part of the English‑language underground rap scene associated with the Haunted Mound collective, which emerged in the early 2020s around a deliberately dark and raw aesthetic. Buckshot has developed a style at the intersection of lo‑fi trap, cloud rap and horrorcore, with tracks characterized by misty atmospheres, slow tempos and visual or sonic references that also borrow from folk and country. His trajectory was first built within the collective’s online ecosystem and then through collaborations and appearances with other members such as Sematary, Hackle and Oscar18. With Burning Barn (2022), Buckshot refines his formula by blending a drawling vocal delivery, stripped‑down productions, acoustic guitars and dark synth beds, in a format that remains close to experimental rap while moving away from the genre’s more conventional codes. Buckshot thus occupies a distinctive place in a fringe of internet rap where gothic imagery, ambient sonics and direct writing converge.
