Christian Löffler
Based on the Baltic coast near Greifswald in Germany, Christian Löffler has been developing since the late 2000s an introspective approach to electronic music, positioned between melodic deep house, minimal techno and ambient. The producer and composer emerged with a series of EPs before structuring his work around Ki Records, a label he co-founded that has supported most of his releases. With the album "A Forest" (2012), Christian Löffler refined a language of restrained rhythms, hazy soundscapes and repetitive melodic motifs, later followed by "Mare" (2016), conceived in relation to the landscapes of northern Germany. The subsequent period saw him explore more narrative formats with "Graal (Prologue)" (2019) and "Lys" (2020), where guest vocalists such as Mohna or Menke regularly appear, integrated into an aesthetic at the border between electronica and slow pop. In 2021 the project "Parallels: Shellac Reworks", released on Deutsche Grammophon, opened a dialogue with classical recordings, illustrating Löffler's ongoing interest in acoustic textures, simple harmonies and concert dynamics that he translates to the stage in immersive live sets.
