Boko Yout

Led by singer-songwriter Paul Adamah, Boko Yout has emerged within the Swedish alternative scene with a hybrid approach dubbed Afro‑Grunge, where punk‑funk energy, alt‑rock guitars and rhythmic and vocal experiments intersect. The Boko Yout project surfaced in the early 2020s through a series of singles and EPs that established a tense sonic universe focused on repetition, shifts in dynamics and a powerful vocal presence. Boko Yout’s music explores questions of identity, the relationship to the ego and artistic freedom, blending Afro‑diasporic references, rock‑adjacent structures and pulses drawn equally from funk and electronic music. Announced for 2025, the debut album “GUSTO” is presented as a conceptual work built around sessions with a fictional therapist, Dr. Gusto, who provides the narrative frame for this introspective exploration. On stage, Boko Yout crafts a performative concert form in which gesture, scenography and physical intensity are central, with headlining tours across the Nordic countries and arena dates alongside Viagra Boys in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo and Helsinki.
