George Daniel

Born in Brussels in 1990 and partly raised in Seattle before settling in England, George Daniel trained in Wilmslow and then in Manchester, where his interest in drums, production and electronic music became central. He first emerged as a member of The 1975, a band he joined in the early 2000s and with which he developed a language blending pop rock, indie, electronic textures and meticulously crafted studio work, from The 1975 in 2013 to Being Funny in a Foreign Language in 2022. At the same time, Daniel has built a career as a producer, marked by collaborations with The Japanese House on several EPs and on the albums Good at Falling (2019) and In the End It Always Does (2023), as well as work with No Rome, Beabadoobee, Charli XCX, Caroline Polachek and Salute. His solo output places more emphasis on a club-oriented aesthetic—between dance music, melodic techno, ambient and more fragmented rhythms. In 2024 he launched the label dh2 and released his first solo single, 'Screen Cleaner', followed by 'Chlorine' the same year and 'Volc3' in 2025, tracks that extend a precise, direct approach largely geared toward DJing.
