VTSS

Active on the European techno scene, VTSS is the project of Polish producer and DJ Martyna Maja, hailing from Warsaw and emerging from the local underground party circuit before gaining recognition in Berlin and London. Initially rooted in fast techno with shades of industrial, EBM and hard dance, VTSS has honed a confrontational, rhythmically dense sound often laden with abrasive textures and rave references. A resident for collectives such as Jasna 1 in Warsaw and a regular guest at queer nights and clubs across Europe, VTSS has built a reputation on intense sets that sit between the dancefloor and a more experimental approach. On the production side, the EPs Self Will (2019) and Body Mind Possession (2019) established a dark, percussive aesthetic, extended by the collaboration Borderline Tenderness with Varg2™ in 2020. With Projections (2021) and Circulus Vitiosus (2022), released via the Ninja Tune network, VTSS broadened her palette toward more hybrid club forms, incorporating vocals, pop-leaning structures and less linear tempos while retaining an energy shaped by rave culture and radical electronic music.
