BIG WETT

Active between Melbourne and the Australian club scene, BIG WETT has since 2021 been developing a frontal electronic pop project, nourished by 90s rave, techno, eurodance and a deliberately crude writing style. BIG WETT first drew attention online with short, fast tracks designed for the dancefloor, before widening its audience through highly performative live shows where humor, explicit sexuality and queer affirmations intersect. Its universe foregrounds sexual freedom, self-deprecation and lyrics centered on the body, desire and self-esteem, in a form that blends pop hooks, hammered rhythms and club energy. On stage, BIG WETT has circulated between festivals and venues in Australia and then the United Kingdom, with notable appearances at Meredith Music Festival, Pitch Music & Arts and The Great Escape. Its first major release, the EP PU$$Y, released in 2023, condenses this aesthetic into six short, direct tracks. In keeping with this approach, BIG WETT occupies a space apart between pop performance, queer culture and festive electronic music, with an identity built around excess, irony and a very unapologetic relationship to the stage.
