Sextile

Born out of Los Angeles’s independent scene, Sextile has, since 2015, forged a blend of post‑punk, synth‑punk and electronic sounds shaped by cold wave, EBM and industrial textures. Founded by Brady Keehn and Melissa Scaduto, the band drew attention with 2015’s A Thousand Hands, where razor‑edged guitars and reverb‑laden atmospheres still dominated the soundscape, then honed a drier, more mechanical aesthetic on 2017’s Albeit Living. With the 2018 EP 3, Sextile leaned further into electronic rhythms and repetitive basslines, moving closer to the codes of club music and rave culture while retaining punk‑born energy. The death of keyboardist Eddie Wuebben in 2019 led to a hiatus before a leaner restart: as a duo, Sextile pivoted toward more direct structures, chant‑like vocals and more upfront synths. That evolution crystallized on 2023’s Push, released by Sacred Bones Records, where Sextile now delivers an intense live show—part rock concert, part electronic set—on stages across North America and Europe.
