Riki

Based in Los Angeles, American musician Riki has developed a solo project that extends her trajectory within the West Coast punk and deathrock scene, after having been active in the band Crimson Scarlet. Under the name Riki she moves toward dark synth-pop informed by darkwave, post-punk and Italo disco references, with a pronounced taste for direct melodic lines and pop song structures. The first album, simply titled "Riki" and released in 2020 on Dais Records, established the foundations of this world where clear vocals, melancholic keyboards and danceable rhythms are built around lyrics in English and sometimes in Spanish. In 2021 Riki refined this aesthetic with "Gold", also released on Dais and produced by Joshua Eustis, adopting a brighter approach while remaining rooted in a coldwave and synthetic culture. Active on stages specialized in post-punk and alternative electronic music, Riki performs across clubs, festivals and tours in North America and Europe, with a live format that translates her studio compositions into a more direct setting while maintaining the balance between pop energy and introspective atmospheres.
