The Hacker
The Hacker, whose real name is Michel Amato, is a pioneer in the world of electro music. Known for his onstage partnership with Miss Kittin, The Hacker became one of France’s most famous DJs within a few years. He began making music at 17 in Grenoble, teaching himself a harder-edged electro style. In 1993 he founded his own label, Goodlife Records. Together with Miss Kittin he DJed at numerous club nights around the world. After a US tour in 2002, Miss Kittin and The Hacker decided to pursue their solo careers. Two years later he released his second solo album, Rêves mécaniques, which further established his reputation with the public. After working separately for a time, The Hacker and Miss Kittin reunited for the album Two, released in 2009. Since the 2000s The Hacker has performed regularly in Paris at club nights, both solo and with other DJs.
