Svdden Death

Under the name Svdden Death, American producer Daniel Howland, born in San Jose, California and based in Los Angeles, emerged on the dubstep and riddim scene in the mid-2010s. Svdden Death came to prominence with a series of singles and EPs oriented around bass music, initially released online and later through specialist labels such as Monstercat, which embedded him in a network of North American producers favouring aggressive, highly syncopated sounds. His writing favors track structures centered on massive drops, abrasive textures and dark atmospheres—at times recalling metal and industrial aesthetics—which have enabled him to establish himself on club and festival stages dedicated to heavy electronic music. Collaborations with artists like Marshmello or Slander have helped broaden Svdden Death's reach beyond the strict riddim circle while retaining a sonic core focused on rhythmic impact. In parallel, Daniel Howland developed the Svdden Death Presents: VOYD project, a stage and recording concept in which he pushes the horror imagery and narrative aspect of his performances further, extending the immersive dimension of the Svdden Death universe.
