Vernis Rouge
On the current French scene, Vernis Rouge has established herself as a singer-songwriter-composer at the crossroads of contemporary rock, pop and chanson. Her early releases—most notably Covers in 2022, followed by Femme nue, Yalla viens and Mon cœur est oriental in 2023—created a universe where voice and piano occupy a central place, supported by rock arrangements and romantic lyrics tinged with irony. In 2024, her piano-and-voice rendition of the rap track Bande organisée on The Voice gave her renewed visibility, extended by a studio version released the same year and several electronic reinterpretations by artists such as Kimotion and L.B. One & Datamotion. Vernis Rouge followed with Amère and Soleil (Rouge) in 2024, then in 2025 developed a series of more narrative, electrified tracks including Corine, the duet C’est quand même fou with Allan Védé, and Comme des loups with Zaoui, which was also issued in an acoustic version. Between collaborations with artists from both rock and electronic music and more personal projects like INTRO in 2025, Vernis Rouge continues to write French songs that play with rap and pop codes and is preparing a debut album built around this repertoire.
