Info
Rayland Baxter brings his The True Violet Tour to The Great Hall in Toronto on January 29, 2027, with that Nashville-born blend of americana, alt-country, folk-rock and hazy pop that’s been shaping his songs since the early 2010s. Built around acoustic guitar, loose arrangements and a laid-back voice, his writing keeps one foot in classic folk storytelling while letting in softer psych and soul colors.
Over the years, Baxter has moved from the early warmth of Feathers & Fishhooks and the Ashkelon EP to the more dream-leaning textures of Imaginary Man, then a broader, pop-forward approach on Wide Awake. He even took a detour through reinterpretations with Good Mmornin before returning to his own material on If I Were a Butterfly. Onstage, that evolution translates into a set where calm melodies and country inflections sit next to more expansive, gently produced moments, all held together by a songwriter’s touch.
