Info
On 11 November 2026, Paul Heaton brings his sharp-eyed British songwriting to Liverpool Arena in Liverpool. Heaton’s set draws on a long line of melodic, story-first pop that started in the 1980s with The Housemartins, where his knack for big hooks met lyrics that clock the everyday details of English life with a dry, social edge. He carried that approach into The Beautiful South, widening the palette from indie pop to pop-rock with soulful touches and more arranged, orchestral moments, always built around tunes that land fast and words that linger.
As a solo artist, and through his long-running work with Jacqui Abbott, Heaton has kept the focus on direct narratives: relationships, routine, small-town observations, and the contradictions of modern Britain. Expect a show that moves between singalong choruses and quieter, more reflective cuts, with that warm vocal tone doing its usual trick of softening the sting in the lines. Recent material from The Mighty Several sits naturally alongside the older classics, all part of the same straight-talking pop tradition.
