CloseUp brings piri to Colours Hoxton in London on 12 November 2026, with friends joining the night. Born in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, Sophie Leigh McBurnie has been carving out her lane since 2021 with fast, light electronic pop that flips between drum and bass, UK garage and breakbeats, always anchored by clear, melodic hooks.
After breaking through with “It’s a Match”, she developed the piri & Tommy chapter with producer Tommy Villiers, turning short pop forms into flexible club tracks that travelled quickly online. Cuts like “Soft Spot”, followed by “Beachin”, “Words” and “On & On”, led to the 2022 mixtape Froge.mp3. Since moving forward solo, piri has kept that same balance: a soft, understated voice over bright pop textures and rhythms pulled straight from UK rave culture, shifting easily from intimate songwriting to dancefloor momentum. Along the way she’s crossed paths with names like MJ Cole, salute and Young Franco, while staying close to the UK pop and dance scenes.
