Info
On July 10, 2026, Alex Isley takes over La Gaîté Lyrique in Paris with a modern R&B nourished by soul and jazz. Between New Jersey and Los Angeles, the singer and producer has built a gently distinctive signature: layered harmonies, slow tempos, velvety keyboards and a voice at the forefront. Daughter of guitarist Ernie Isley of the Isley Brothers, she grew up immersed in gospel, jazz and soul—elements that now permeate her compositions, between assured intimacy and introspective songwriting.
Brought to prominence in the early 2010s with The Love/Art Memoirs, Alex Isley has since released EPs and collaborations, notably with producer Jack Dine. Together they have crafted tracks with discreet grooves and minimalist arrangements, culminating in the album Marigold in 2022. In concert, Alex Isley favors tight ensembles and a dynamic that lets the melody breathe: stretched-out versions, carefully shaped nuances, all focused on the grain of her voice. At La Gaîté Lyrique, expect a set that navigates Marigold, her earlier projects and a few notable collaborations, for a subtle dive into delicately sculpted neo-soul R&B.
