Electric Six

Electric Six land in Dublin on 26 November 2026 at The Academy. Born in Detroit in 1996 as The Wildbunch before adopting their current name, the group wired together alternative rock, garage grit, hard riffs, disco swing and new wave keys. Led since day one by singer Dick Valentine, they broke out in the early 2000s with Danger! High Voltage and Gay Bar, then the album Fire in 2003, honing sharp hooks, danceable rhythms and a knowingly offbeat sense of humour. Jack White even slipped into the story on Danger! High Voltage. On stage they push that blend with synth grooves, guitar bite and pop references delivered with a straight face.

The show draws from a catalogue that kept moving: Señor Smoke (2005), Switzerland (2006) and a steady run through to Turquoise (2023). Their sets tend to slide from four-on-the-floor throb to spiky rock sprints, placing recent tracks alongside the songs that first put them on the map. Valentine holds the centre with a dry presence while the band locks into tight, physical tempos. It’s Detroit energy filtered through disco colours, built for movement and choruses you can throw back at the stage.
