Mephorash
Mephorash is a Swedish black metal band formed in 2010 in Uppsala. Their music is distinguished by an esoteric, ritual approach to black metal, blending sonic violence, mystical atmospheres and occult themes inspired by Kabbalah, Gnosticism and hermetic traditions.
After an initial demo, the band released their first album, Death Awaits You All with Neon Skies Above (2011), laying the foundations of a universe both spiritual and radical. They went on to develop a conceptual trilogy with Chalice of Thagirion (2016), 1557 – Rites of Nullification (2017) and Shem Ha Mephorash (2019), exploring theological and metaphysical dimensions through an almost liturgical presentation.
In concert, the band presents ceremonial staging and a ritualistic aesthetic.
