Mephorash

Founded in Uppsala, Sweden, in 2010, Mephorash is part of the Swedish black metal scene with an approach that blends frontal violence, ritual atmospheres and esoteric imagery. The music is built on tremolo riffs, shifting rhythms, abrasive vocals and often-extended compositions in which solemn, melodic passages thicken the sound while remaining firmly within the extreme register. After their debut Death Awakens (2011), the band refined its language on Chalice of Thagirion (2013), then moved toward a broader, more ceremonial writing style with Shem Ha Mephorash (2015). Krystl-Ah (2019) continued this trajectory, presenting black metal more concerned with dynamics and the project’s spiritual dimension. Over these releases Mephorash has carved out a place on the European extreme metal scene with an identity focused on the sacred, occultism and the tension between brutality, atmospheric texture and near‑liturgical construction.
