Info
On Monday 5 October 2026 at La Maroquinerie in Paris, Little Barrie returns to the stage with the Gravity Freeze Tour 2026. Built around guitarist–singer Barrie Cadogan and bassist Lewis Wharton, the band claims a British rock heritage steeped in blues, funk and soul, characterised by tight grooves, pared-back vocals and a guitar with a crisp, clean tone. After the death of drummer Virgil Howe in 2017 and an interlude marked by two records made with Malcolm Catto (The Heliocentrics) — Quatermass Seven and then Electric War — Little Barrie has reclaimed its original name and direction.
Gravity Freeze, written and sequenced with vinyl in mind, marks the band’s return to the studio under its own banner. The hooks are sharpened, the rhythms deepen the pulse and the atmosphere grows denser, continuing a trajectory that began with Stark Reality more than twenty-five years ago. Live, expect a chiaroscuro tension between frenzied riffs, compact bass lines and rhythm-and-blues inflections — a sound that links garage urgency to more soulful and psychedelic textures. The set is designed to carry the new material without denying the journey that led to it.
