Leïla Martial - Jubilä

On April 27, 2026 at Pan Piper, Leïla Martial presents Jubilä, a solo voice piece in which she explores her inner landscapes and conjures shifting figures. Alone on stage, somewhere between a playful diva and a child-clown, she unfolds an intimate theatre: a nymph’s dress, a toy piano, a few sound objects, and above all a voice that continually metamorphoses. She moves from French to English and Spanish, branches into invented idioms, layers breaths, whispers, whistles, rubbing sounds, sung lines and rhythmic fragments, until she constructs herself into a living polyphony.

In Jubilä, memories surface, a nod to Bach slips into the neck of a miniature bottle, and confidences drift into mischievous asides about tuning to A=440 or other musicianly obsessions. The performance shifts without warning between gravity and playfulness, confession and caper, keeping the voice at the center as an instrument in its own right. Stripped-down format, direct presence: a journey that engages improvisation, timbre and the exploration of language, sustained by physicality and attentive listening to the moment.
