Alfie Templeman
Born in Carlton, Bedfordshire, England, Alfie Templeman developed an early self-taught musical practice across guitar, drums, bass, keyboards and home recording. He began releasing demos as a teenager before signing with Chess Club and officially debuting with the single “Orange Juice” and the EP Like an Animal in 2018. His songwriting initially sits at the intersection of indie pop, bedroom pop, slacker rock and light pop-funk, featuring flexible melodies, bright guitars and a marked taste for disco-pop textures. His career progressed rapidly with the EPs Sunday Morning Cereal and Don’t Go Wasting Time in 2019, followed by Happiness in Liquid Form in 2020 and the mini-album Forever Isn’t Long Enough in 2021. A fixture on the British indie circuit, Alfie Templeman has also shared bills with Sundara Karma and Sports Team and taken part in occasional collaborations, notably with Coach Party, April, Circa Waves and chloe moriondo. In 2022 he released his first full-length album, Mellow Moon, before broadening his palette on Radiosoul in 2024, a record where his pop retains its sense of a hook while more clearly incorporating funk, soul and dance influences, as on “Just a Dance” with Nile Rodgers.
