Biig Piig
Born in Cork as Jessica Smyth, Biig Piig grew up between Ireland, Spain and west London, a background that informs her songwriting in both English and Spanish. Emerging in 2016 with tracks uploaded to SoundCloud, she initially became part of the London DIY scene around the NiNE8 collective, where she crossed paths with artists such as Lava La Rue and producer Mac Wetha. Her style, on the border between singing and rap, is built on flexible songs that move between alternative R&B, understated hip‑hop, soul and electronic pop. A first turning point came in 2017 with "Vice City", and she developed that world across the EPs Big Fan of the Sesh, Vol. 1 (2018), A World Without Snooze, Vol. 2 (2019) and No Place for Patience, Vol. 3 (2019). She followed with The Sky Is Bleeding in 2021, the mixtape Bubblegum in 2023, and her debut album 11:11 in 2025. Along the way Biig Piig has also worked on numerous collaborations — notably with Metronomy on "405", Emotional Oranges on "Body & Soul" and Deb Never on "Picking Up" — while playing open mics, touring Europe and supporting acts such as Glass Animals.
