Cassia

Formed in Macclesfield in northwest England, Cassia has been developing since the latter half of the 2010s a repertoire that sits between indie pop, pop rock and rhythms influenced by African and tropical music. The group favours bright, clean guitars, subtle percussion and melancholic melodies. The British trio first drew attention with a string of singles and EPs before releasing Replica in 2019 and Why You Lacking Energy? in 2022 — two albums that show increasingly structured songwriting without forfeiting the direct momentum of their early work. Cassia’s tracks often rest on light, danceable grooves counterbalanced by a gentle vocal and a more introspective tone, giving the music an immediately identifiable character without flashy stylistic effects. Through tours across the UK and Europe the band has widened its audience while moving its sound toward a broader, more detailed production.
