Blues Pills
Formed in Örebro, Sweden, in 2011, Blues Pills emerged from the meeting of Swedish singer Elin Larsson, American bassist Zack Anderson, French guitarist Dorian Sorriaux and American drummer Cory Berry. Initially conceived as a quartet, Blues Pills developed a rock sound rooted in blues, soul, hard rock and psychedelia, with an aesthetic that evokes the 1960s and 1970s without being merely retro. In the early 2010s the band drew attention across the European scene for a live-focused energy, the contrasts between thick riffs and soulful vocals, and songwriting that blends rock tension with looser melodies. The debut album, Blues Pills, was released in 2014, followed by Lady in Gold (2016), Holy Moly! (2020) and Birthday (2024). Through lineup changes the band tightened its songwriting while maintaining a strong blues-rock foundation, and continues to evolve between club shows, rock venues and major European festivals.
