(G)I-DLE
Formed in Seoul under Cube Entertainment, (G)I‑DLE debuted in 2018 around Soyeon, Miyeon, Minnie, Yuqi, Shuhua and, until 2021, Soojin. The project distinguished itself from the start with the EP “I Am” (2018) and the single “LATATA”, which established an identity blending Korean pop, hip‑hop influences and melodic choruses. Multinational in makeup, the group brings together members from South Korea, Thailand, China and Taiwan, resulting in a repertoire that ranges from ballads and trap tracks to EDM and retro‑tinged references. (G)I‑DLE has progressively asserted itself as a group deeply involved in writing and production, with Soyeon credited for a large share of the lyrics and production work, notably on the EPs “I Made” (2019) and “I Trust” (2020). Their participation in the television program Queendom in 2019 boosted the visibility of their stage performances and conceptual work. The Korean discography that followed includes the EP “I Burn” (2021), the first studio album “I Never Die” (2022), the projects “I Love” (2022) and “I Feel” (2023), and the album “2” in 2024, while regular activity in Japan complements their presence across Asia. At the same time, members such as Soyeon and Miyeon have taken part in special projects tied to digital pop and video game soundtracks, extending the group’s aesthetic beyond the strict boundaries of K‑pop.
