aespa
Formed in Seoul by SM Entertainment, aespa brings together Karina, Giselle, Winter and Ningning as a K-pop quartet that mixes dance-pop, hip-hop and electronic pop with a futuristic aesthetic and an imaginary tied to avatars and the metaverse. aespa debuted in 2020 with the single "Black Mamba" and from 2021 refined a songwriting approach marked by breaks in rhythm, percussive choruses, highly crafted vocal lines and rap sections on "Next Level" and the EP "Savage." After "Girls" in 2022 — a phase that saw the group expand activities outside Korea and appear on stages such as Coachella — aespa launched its first tour, Synk: Hyper Line, in 2023, the year of the EPs "My World" and "Drama," in which the group moved its universe toward a more direct pop while retaining electronic textures and contrasting structures. In 2024 aespa released its first studio album, "Armageddon," preceded by the single "Supernova," then the EP "Whiplash," and continued with the Synk: Parallel Line tour. In 2025 aespa added the single album "Dirty Work" to its discography, and a second studio album, "Lemonade," has been announced for 2026.
