The Kid LAROI

Born in Sydney in 2003, The Kid LAROI—real name Charlton Kenneth Jeffrey Howard—grew up between the New South Wales capital and the mining town of Broken Hill, carrying a Kamilaroi Aboriginal heritage that inspired his stage name. Spotted as a teenager via Australian platform Triple J Unearthed High in 2018, he first gained recognition in the local hip‑hop scene with the EP 14 With a Dream (2018), before entering the circle of rapper Juice WRLD, for whom he opened shows and collaborated. After relocating to the United States, he developed songwriting focused on relationships, family and early media exposure, driven by a melodic style at the intersection of rap, pop and contemporary R&B, alternating clear singing, rhythmic flows and tightly structured choruses. The release of the mixtape F*ck Love in 2020 marked a major milestone, reinforced by collaborations with international rap and pop artists. With his debut album The First Time in 2023, The Kid LAROI continued this hybrid aesthetic—between globally oriented pop production and emo‑rap references—while establishing himself on American, European and Australian stages at festivals, headlining tours and co‑billing appearances.
